Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) is a 60-bed hospital and 20-bed extended care facility and is a Centre of Excellence in First Nations and Northern Health Care. The SLMHC provides service to 28 First Nations communities surrounding Sioux Lookout and to the residents of Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Pickle Lake, and Savant Lake comprising of a total catchment area of over 35,000 in an area of 385,000 sq. km. Sioux Lookout, (pop. 5,600 and a total catchment area of over 30,000) is conveniently located in Northwestern Ontario between Thunder Bay, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba surrounded by the rugged Canadian Shield, endless forest and an extensive lake and river system. Renumeration:  APP and HOCC, Northern relocation grants

Existing Staff:   3 Full-time anesthetists and locums, 2 Full-time general surgeons

Opportunity: This is a new vacancy to a 3 surgeon group, on regional APP.

Very broad practice in rural/remote community serving Northwestern Ontario. Fully hospital based and shared practice.

Modern hospital with 2 fully M.I.S. equipped suites + endoscopy suite. Mammo/US/CT/ERCP available locally.
