The Northern Health Authority is seeking a family practitioner with emergency experience for full-time emergency room coverage. The Emergency Room at Fort St. John Hospital sees 25,000+ visits per year and is currently covered by 3 full time family practitioners.Fort St John Hospital & Peace Villa is a new 55 bed facility with 123 bed residential care facility. Offering a full range of services including diagnostics, surgery, acute care, ICU, maternity, palliative care, a community cancer centre and community hemodialysis. The city of Fort St. John is located on a plateau in the Peace Region of northeastern British Columbia. From prairie farmland and boreal forest to alpine tundra and rugged Rocky Mountains, the Peace Region produces 90% of the province’s grain, 40% of its hydroelectric power and has some of the largest gas fields in North America.
Fort St. John is the cultural and commercial center of the region, offering a rural lifestyle with modern conveniences such as shopping and entertainment. Recreational opportunities in the area include cross-country skiing, fishing, hockey, boating, hiking, camping, hunting and curling.
Fee for service, approximately $350,000 per year
Retention Premium: 23.30%,
