ADDICTION MEDICINE 

Bellwood is a licensed accredited hospital in Toronto with over 30-years of experience providing compassionate care to those suffering with addiction and related mental health issues. Set within a new state of the art facility located in a serene upscale part of Toronto, Bellwood provides an extraordinary environment for staff and clients. Bellwood is conducting a national search for Medical Director to provide leadership to a high-functioning, well trained team of physicians and clinicians.  The Medical Director will be an important part of the Hospitals’ Leadership Team.  

Professional duties include providing medical oversight to the clinical programs, and direct patient care including conducting admission, discharge and follow up assessments; educational program sessions based on addiction related topics; and weekly meetings with patients in the active phase of addiction treatment.  

The Medical Director will have excellent knowledge of, and advanced education in the treatment of substance use disorders including proficiency in withdrawal management and psychopharmacology of addiction and related mental health disorders. The Medical Director will also be expected to demonstrate skills and leadership in the behavioral management of challenging clients. 

This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in scheduling is available and some on-call duties are involved.
