Clinical Associate Staff-Term, Division of Paediatric Intensive Care

The Department of Critical Care Medicine, Division of Paediatric Intensive Care at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position as a Clinical Associate Staff-Term appointment. The effective date of this appointment is July 1st 2018.

Primary Description – The candidate must have training and clinical background in pediatric intensive care. Responsibilities include full-time equivalent clinical intensive care practice, and research, education, and administrative responsibilities as required by a Staff Physician in the Department of Critical Care Medicine. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required.

Additional Description
The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Medical staff appointments in the Department and at The Hospital for Sick Children are aligned with clinical faculty classifications at the University of Toronto and as specified by the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN). The Clinical Associate Staff – Term category is a twelve (12) month appointment to the department of Critical Care Medicine and does not include an appointment at the University of Toronto, but does include the potential for renewal following review of Hospital need and the previous year’s performance.

Dedicated exclusively to children and their families, The Hospital for Sick Children is a world-renowned, state-of-the-art paediatric health care facility affiliated with the University of Toronto. The hospital is committed to ongoing learning and development, and features a caring and supportive work environment. The Division of Paediatric Intensive Care currently comprises 9 Physicians, and is responsible for the comprehensive care for all patients admitted to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, including mechanical support of the circulation.

Salary will be between the range of $120,000 - $200,000, as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Group Insurance, Pension, Vision.
