Non-invasive Cardiologist

Located just 30 minutes east of Toronto, in Beautiful Durham Region, Lakeridge Health Oshawa (LHO) is looking for a non-invasive Cardiologist to participate in the Cardiology service model, with a focus on the provision of services to the following areas; Acute Care areas, Critical Care Unit, inpatient services including ambulatory/diagnostics, cardiac imaging, and pacemaker clinic.

We currently have a position available for one full-time cardiologist to join a team of nine cardiologists with well-established practices. Hospital-based inpatient care is shared among the group with home-based call.  Participation in the General Medicine call schedule is not required.  This position is responsible for the assistance and participation of inpatient care across all five Lakeridge Health hospitals. As Lakeridge Health does not have a cardiac catheterization lab, patients are referred to Scarborough and Rouge hospital.

Applicants must be licensed or eligible for a license to practice in Ontario with accreditation in Cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or its equivalent. He/she will have evidence of an academic interest and expertise and may be eligible for an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine through Queen’s University.  Any other fellowships would be an asset.  The successful candidate will promote and exemplify excellence in professional practice and conduct, commitment to team-based and inter-professional care and proven strong interpersonal skills.
