Fort St John Hospital is a new state of the art 55 bed hospital and 123 bed residential care facility serving a population of approximately 20,000 and is one of two area Emergency Rooms serving a catchment area of approximately 69,000. 

The Emergency Room sees 25,000+ visits per year, currently covered by 3 full time General Practitioners with assistance from other General Practitioners in the community. 

Fort St. John is the cultural and commercial center of the region, offering a rural lifestyle with modern conveniences such as shopping and entertainment. Recreational opportunities in the area include cross-country skiing, fishing, hockey, boating, hiking, camping, hunting and curling. Fort St. John always has something for you to do whether it's summer or winter! The natural beauty of Fort St. John and the surrounding Peace Valley provides a varied terrain ideal for numerous seasonal outdoor activities. Local airport makes it easy to get away.

Compensation:

  • Fee for service, approximately $350,000 per year
  • Retention Premium: 23.30%,
  • Retention Flat Fee: $22,922.83.
  • REEF available for ER Coverage;
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000
  • Recruitment Incentive: $20,000

Required Experience and Education 

  • ACLS/ATLS: Desired,
  • Emergency Experience: Mandatory
  • CMPA; Mandatory,
  • Current CPSBC License: Provisional
