Position profile – Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a permanent full-time Pediatric Emergency Physician. The successful candidate will provide specialist pediatric services in an emergency environment in a tertiary care facility serving Saskatoon and northern Saskatchewan residents.  The Pediatric Emergency Physician is responsible for providing all clinical medical services for children attending the Pediatric Emergency Department and teaching residents and medical students training at the University of Saskatchewan, College of Medicine. There is also the opportunity to do research.

Compensation details – via an Alternate Payment Plan contract, $371,980.80-$420,177.60 per annum for full time (1440 hours per year).  Pediatric Emergency physicians are independent contractors and have the opportunity to enjoy the financial benefits of incorporation.

Qualifications/Requirements of the position – Candidates must hold an MD degree, a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Certification, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.

It is home to the newly constructed Academic Health Sciences Complex (http://library.usask.ca/hsl/new-building.php) and two of the largest science projects in the country – the Canadian Light Source synchrotron (www.lightsource.ca) and the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization/International Vaccine Centre (www.vido.org). A users group is available for collaborative research with clinical faculty using the $173.5 million Canadian Light Source synchrotron, owned by the University of Saskatchewan. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training.
