Medical & Division Director for Palliative Care

Sunnybrook is a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto with three campuses and home to one of Canada’s largest cancer centres and Toronto’s largest palliative care unit. We are searching for a new Medical & Division Director for Palliative Care to lead and promote innovation in both inpatient and outpatient palliative care delivery across the continuum and ongoing clinical excellence.

The Medical & Division Director will be responsible for medical leadership of the Palliative Care Consult Team and 56 bed palliative care unit as well as leadership of education and research in Palliative Care within the Department of Family & Community Medicine at Sunnybrook. Active clinical work will be expected and tailored to expertise.

Applicants will be required to be eligible to practice medicine in Ontario and have training in palliative care through a palliative care fellowship, Certification of Added Competency in Palliative Care from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or equivalent from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons, or other relevant clinical and academic experience.  Leadership experience and training are essential. Experience in both hospital and community palliative care is an asset. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
