The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) is seeking two full time Emergency Physicians to join their collegial team. Part time options will be considered and participation in the trauma team leader (TTL) program is available to this group. UHNBC is a level 3 trauma centre that handles approximately 47,000 emergency room visits per year. UHNBC is a clinical academic campus for undergraduate physician training through the UBC Northern Medical Program and also hosts residents from UBC Residency Programs. The Emergency physicians a UHNBC play an active role in the education of both medical students and residents.
UHNBC is the largest acute care facility in Northern Health and is the referral centre for all communities across northern BC. High level medical services including all core specialties are available at this site. Medical specialties include critical care, respirology, cardiology, gastroenterology and neurology. Diagnostic services include both MRI and CT scanners.
Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for northern BC, servicing a rural population of 300,000 people over an area of 600,000 square kilometers.
