CLINICAL ACADEMIC POSITION - DIVISION OF NEPHROLOGY

                                                                                                 

The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University, London Health Sciences Centre, and St. Joseph’s Heath Care London are seeking to hire an Academic Nephrologist with demonstrated excellence in clinical care and advancing academic medicine, where the latter can include research and / or educational excellence.  The successful candidate will hold a full-time Limited Term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or  Associate Professor, or a Continuing Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending upon qualifications and experience at the time of appointment.  The appointment will be held at the University of Western Ontario and the clinical practice will be primarily located at the Victoria Hospital campus as well as other sites of London Health Sciences Centre, St. Joseph’s Health Care London and affiliated clinical teaching units as required.

The Division of Nephrology is a leader in providing secondary and tertiary clinical care, excels in teaching, and conducts world class clinical and basic science research.  The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and demonstrated excellence in educational scholarship and / or research (clinical, population or health services research).  The candidate will work within vibrant multidisciplinary teams and will contribute to the division’s vision to provide excellent patient care, research and teaching. 

 

The successful candidate must hold an MD Degree or equivalent, be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Nephrology and be eligible or have licensure in the province of Ontario.

 

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be primarily composed of the following sources:  Fee-for-service (OHIP billings), Alternative Funding Plan, and academic salary.
