We are excited to add passionate and hardworking experienced candidates or new graduates to our team at PRH. Diagnostic Neurophysiology (EMG/EEG) is desirable but not essential.

The Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a 134-bed Acute Care facility in the Okanagan Health Service Area and responsible for providing core medical and surgical specialty services to surrounding population of approximately 90,000 people.

 

PRH offers 24-hour Emergency and Trauma Services, Acute Services, Ambulatory and Out-patient Clinics, and Diagnostic/Paramedical Services.

 

As a regional facility and secondary referral centre for the South Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, you will be joining an excellent complement of medical and surgical specialists.  Excellent radiology availability with on site Computed Tomography (CT) and part time Medical Resonance Imaging (MRI).  PRH has a seven-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

 

PRH also serves as the referral base for hematology/transfusion medicine for the smaller local hospitals in Oliver and Princeton.

 

PRH is scheduled for expansion with a new Patient Care Tower.  Phase one will include the construction of a new patient care tower with a new ambulatory care centre, surgical services center, 84 medical/surgical inpatients beds in single patient rooms, a new medical device reprocessing unit and space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine Program.  Phase two will involve the renovation in the current hospital to allow the expansion of the emergency department four times its current size.

 

Qualifications:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory;

Call Schedule:

  • Hours of work: Full time
  • On call requirements: 1:3

Compensation:

  • Payment Structure: Fee for Service
  • Estimated Gross Income: $275,000 - $350,000, plus MOCAP level 1
  • Overhead cost associated with private practice only
  • Relocation assistance up to $10,000 maximum or $15,000 maximum if move is over 3,000 kms/international (with eligible receipts)
