Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH), a community hospital and regional referral centre, is seeking a permanent general Anesthesiologist to join the group of 8 FTE. The team provides Anaesthesia Care for General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT (ears, nose, and throat), and Urology. The operating rooms are all conveniently located in a new tower, which is also slated for further expansion. The Department also provides teaching medical students that will rotate through anesthesia as part of their core medical education.

Vernon Jubilee Hospital is a 160 bed acute care hospital serving the growing communities within the North Okanagan region of approximately 80,000 residents.  The new 230,000 square foot Polson Tower at VJH is a state-of-the-art facility with leading-edge technology and was built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental design gold standards. This new tower offers a new and expanded Emergency department, Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, new Women’s and Children’s Services department, new operating theatres and medical device reprocessing department. Vernon Jubilee Hospital is also a satellite teaching hospital for the medical program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. Qualifications:

  • Eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) – Anaesthesiology
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association is mandatory.

  • Hours of work: Full time
  • On call requirements: 1:8

Compensation:

  • Payment Structure: Fee for service
  • Estimated Gross Income: ~$350,000
  • No overhead

Additional Incentives

  • Relocation assistance up to $10,000 maximum or $15,000 maximu$15,000 maximum if move is over 3,000 kms/international (with eligible receipts)
