The Medical Director Laboratory Services/Department Chief, Laboratory Medicine is a dual role with corporate responsibilities; ensuring timely access and service delivery for the residents of Durham, while keeping abreast of the evolving provincial context and LHIN accountabilities for the program.  Reporting to the Chief of Staff and the VP, Medical and Academic Affairs, you will help us further build our reputation for high-quality patient care by overseeing the professional practice and quality of care provided by laboratory medicine physicians to our patients. You are a proven team builder/leader, a strong communicator, and a dedicated change manager.  You believe strongly in advancing the specialties within laboratory medicine and in the evolving field of precision medicine.

This position provides strategic and operational leadership in conjunction with the Clinical Program Director. You plan, organize and lead activities related to Medical Human Resources Management. You will share responsibility for ensuring that clinical and financial targets are accomplished. You are a champion for organizational patient safety and quality programs and will have outstanding clinical expertise in Laboratory Medicine. You will apply your breadth of experience across multiple disciplines in Laboratory Medicine and work directly in your area(s) of expertise to provide clinical services. You are willing to engage in the teaching and research opportunities that are available at Lakeridge Health as part of our strong history of academic activity in partnership with Queen’s University and the University of Toronto.
