The Fraser Health Authority (FHA), British Columbia's largest and fastest growing health region located in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, is seeking energetic and dedicated Radiologists. The FHA serves in excess of 2 million people through 12 hospitals which include both primary care community hospitals as well as UBC affiliated tertiary referral settings.

Radiologist – Diagnostic

The Fraser Health Authority Regional Department of Medical Imaging is seeking two full time General Radiologists to serve a regional care hospital (Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Agency) and community hospitals in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia (Ridge Meadows Hospital). 

This is a permanent position. The successful applicants will be expected to provide diagnostic medical imaging at all sites in general Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, minor procedures and MRI.  In addition, the successful applicant will:

  • participate in the on-call schedule
  • demonstrate an affinity for team work

Radiologist services at all the above hospitals are provided by members of Valley Medical Imaging (VMI), a dynamic group practice in the Fraser Valley. This 28 member group also serves Valley Medical Imaging clinics in Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack.  There are modern, vibrant, fully digital clinics (visit www.valleymedicalimaging.com).  

Abbotsford Regional Hospital & Cancer Centre is a 272 bed, University of British Columbia affiliated hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, inpatient pediatrics, renal, cardiology, tertiary palliative care, helipad, as well as 24/7 emergency services with 79,289 visits annually.

Eagle Ridge Hospital is a 154-beds hospital in Port Moody, BC, offering medical, surgical, regional rehabilitation, cardiac and diabetes outpatient programs, as well as 24/7 Emergency services with 51,237 visits annually.

Peace Arch Hospital is a 171-bed hospital in White Rock, BC, offering medical, surgical, acute geriatric, obstetrics, palliative, psychiatric and telemetry services as well as 24/7 emergency services with after-hours emergency surgery with 53,136 visits annually.

Royal Columbian Hospital is a provincial referral hospital (tertiary/trauma care centre) located in New Westminster, BC, with 422 acute beds that is a University of BC Affiliated teaching hospital that offers medical, surgical, advanced diagnostics & imaging, critical care, inpatient pediatrics, levels 1 & 3 obstetrics, outpatient clinics, level 2 & 3 neonatology, cardiac surgery, neurosciences, and tertiary programs as well as 24/7 emergency services with 75,986 visits annually.

The Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment is a multi-year, multi-phase project to increase the hospital's capacity, beds and services. Phase one is underway and includes multiple projects, many which prepare the hospital’s infrastructure for future expansion as well as a new 75-bed mental health and substance use wellness centre with more outpatient clinics by late 2019/early 2020. Phase two, if approved by government, proposes to add an acute care tower with more beds for intensive care, cardiac intensive care, obstetrics and medicine/surgical and a new larger emergency by late 2022. Phase three proposes to upgrade existing buildings to support areas in the Health Care Centre, such as the laboratory and pharmacy, by 2025.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Diagnostic Radiology. Applicants should be eligible for a full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC

 

Radiologist - Non-Interventional Neuroradiology

The Fraser Health Authority Regional Department of Medical Imaging is seeking one full time Radiologist with sub-specialty training in Non-Interventional Neuroradiology to serve Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC), a regional referral hospital.  This position will also provide service at Langley Memorial Hospital, Chilliwack General Hospital, Mission Memorial Hospital and Fraser Canyon Hospital.

The successful applicant will be expected to provide diagnostic medical imaging at all sites in general Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, minor procedures and MRI. In addition, the successful applicant will:

• demonstrate an affinity for team work
