Hematologist/Oncologist

Effective immediately, the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick for Children (SickKids),555 University Ave. Toronto, ON is an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full-time permanent pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor  to join the Section of Blood and Marrow Transplantation/Cellular Therapy to provide care for children with hematologic and oncologic disorders, inborn errors of metabolism and immune deficiencies requiring hematopoietic stem cell transplantation/cellular therapy.

The Section includes members with clinical, translational and basic research interests across the field of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. The research environment at SickKids and the University of Toronto offers tremendous collaborative possibilities.

The position focuses on the provision of state-of-the-art care for children undergoing cell therapies, education of residents and subspecialty trainees, and creative professional activity. Clinical responsibilities include coverage of the inpatient unit, consultation service, ambulatory clinics, and participation in the out-of-hours physician call schedules for the Section. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($230,000-280,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package and may be eligible for mortgage assistance. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, must be certified or eligible for certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
