General Practitioner, Radiation Oncology

BC Cancer Kelowna is a full-service cancer centre located in Kelowna, BC currently seeking a GPO in Radiation Oncology to join the current team of 15 radiation oncologists. 

BC Cancer is a provincial organization responsible for population-based cancer control in BC. BC Cancer Kelowna has a full range of medical oncology, diagnostic and support services and a complement of 250 centre staff.

BC Cancer Kelowna Radiation Oncology is committed to excellence in clinical care and is focused on developing academic excellence in a provincial cancer care environment.  The clinical practitioner oncologist (gpo) works collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists and other medical specialists, nurses and clerical staffs in an interdisciplinary working environment.  The role includes ambulatory care of patients on therapy and in follow up.  There is also a component of the role that supports inpatient care as well.  There is no on call service associated with this role. 

Applicants must be eligible for licensure as a specialist in British Columbia and have Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment.  You must also be suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia.  Canadian Immigration regulations accord preference to Canadian citizens and landed immigrants, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.  No previous experience in radiation oncology is required, the department will support the successful applicant in developing the requisite expertise for the role.
