Northern Health is currently recruiting for a Diagnostic Radiologist in Prince George, British

Columbia.

Join a robust team of nine radiologists, technicians, and support staff at the University Hospital of Northern BC to perform general radiology procedures.

Radiology services at UHNBC include:

  • Breast Imaging Centre with digital mammography upgrade 2017
  • Ultrasound
  • MRI 1.5 Tesla Siemens upgrade 2017
  • CT scanners multi detector/multi slice
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Outreach services to GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel (approx.1 day per month travel is required)

Prince George is BC’s northern capital and has a population of ~80,000 with a catchment area of approx. 300,000. There is a regional international airport offering a short 1 hour flight to Vancouver and direct flights to various other destinations. For the outdoor enthusiast the area offers limitless activities including golfing, biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, hockey, water activities and ATVing. There are several recreational facilities including 6 indoor ice rinks, 2 indoor swimming pools, The Northern Sport Centre at the University of Northern British Columbia and numerous private facilities. Prince George hosted the 2016 Canada Winter games and is set to host the 2019 World Para Nordic Skiing Championship. Prince George also has a very active arts community supporting an art gallery, museum, professional symphony and professional live theatre.

Prince George is home to the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and the College of New Caledonia, both offering excellent educational opportunities. UNBC is currently ranked #2 by Maclean’s on their annual list of primarily undergraduate schools and was #1 in 2017.

The UBC Northern Medical program in Prince George was established in 2004 as a response to a rally held in 2000 by the residents of Prince George for increased physician numbers and improved rural medical access. The program graduates 32 medical students and trains several residents a year.

Applicants should be certified or eligible to be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
