Academic Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist

The Division of Gastroenterology of the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver General Hospital, seek an academic gastroenterologist, clinical faculty track, who is qualified in the area of liver transplantation, hepatology, basic upper and lower GI endoscopy and general gastroenterology.  The candidate must have certification in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with completion of additional fellowship training in Transplant Hepatology.  Candidates with completion of a fellowship at a Canadian, American or Commonwealth/ European university centre will be preferred.   A minimum of two year training in hepatology and liver transplantation is mandatory.  The candidate must have acquired an expertise in the area of Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) through basic or clinical research.  Academic proficiency as reflected by an acceptable publication and teaching record is mandatory.  The candidate should preferably have experience in conceiving and implementing multidisciplinary clinics.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be appointed initially as a clinical faculty member in the UBC Department of Medicine at minimally the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.
