Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community-based academic health network in Ontario serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto.  The hospital encompasses three main sites – Credit Valley Hospital (CVH, 2200 Eglinton Avenue West, Miss, ON L5M 2N1); Mississauga Hospital (MH, 100 Queensway West, Miss, ON L5B 1B8); and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) – offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs.

We are seeking a Neurosurgeon for one (1) Locum Tenens position to be a member of our Neuro/MSK Program for a six (6) months duration (with a possibility of extension) starting January 1, 2020. The preferred candidate will have independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a certification in neurosurgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful candidate will be part of a group of 6 neurosurgeons who provide neurosurgical services to the patients in the Hospital and the community through regional call support via CritiCall. The Division of Neurosurgery has a strong neuro-interventional component that operates in collaboration with the Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging Program.

Trillium Health Partners is an academic teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto. The successful candidate would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees.  In addition, academic appointment provides the opportunity to participate in clinical and applied research. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.  

This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Interested physicians must be certified in neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent (e.g. American Board), and be licensed, or be eligible for licensure, to practice medicine independently in the province of Ontario. Candidates with neuro-interventional interest and/or expertise will be preferred. The position is open to all qualified candidates; however, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
