Clinician Researcher 

The Department of Medicine at Queen’s University is seeking a qualified Academic Infectious Diseases Physician to fulfill a Clinician-Scholar Researcher role, with a special interest in Transplant ID.

The ideal candidate will possess methodologic and/or content expertise in an area that complements the existing strengths of Queen’s infectious Infectious disease Disease and microbiology Medical Microbiology research community. Candidates must provide evidence will of an emerging and/or pre-existent research area and portfolio. Candidates must also have a, strong potential fordemonstrable record of effective teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as display in the School of Medicine, the ability to work in a collaborative environment, and possess excellent communication skills and an emerging or strong academic portfolio. As part of their academic profile, they will participate asact as an ID consultant for busy inpatient and outpatient services provided by through the Kingston Health Sciences Centre and provide tertiary clinical servicecare.

The candidate must hold an MD degree, and be eligible for licensure in Infectious Diseases by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The successful candidate must have subspecialty training and Royal College certification in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed further research training in an area of direct relevance to Transplant IDhuman infectious diseases, such that they have a demonstrated ability to contribute to excellence in this area. Examples of such training would include completion of a relevant graduate (MSc or PhD) degree or comparable postgraduate fellowship training program in Transplant a relevant subspecialty area of Infectious Diseases. Preference will also be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Infectious Diseases. The candidate must hold an MD degree, and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. 

Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. For the successful candidate, compensation will be negotiated and will be competitive with the usual income range for an academic clinician-scholar in the Province of Ontario.
