GENERAL CARDIOLOGIST/CARDIAC INTENSIVIST

This is an opportunity to join Southlake’s Cardiology Team. This position is for a subspecialty trained Cardiologist in Cardiac Intensive Care. This individual will keep our CICU in the forefront as a top Cardiac Regional Centre in Ontario. You must be certified by the FRCPC in Cardiology and have completed a fellowship in intensive care as well.

Southlake is a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care designated and funded Regional Cardiac Program, serving 1.5 million people and 10 hospitals in York Region and North Simcoe Muskoka. Our services are comprehensive, including primary PCI, CTO/CHIP, Impella, TAVI, MitraClip, coronary physiology, world firsts in electrophysiology techniques, minimally invasive cardiac surgery and sutureless valves. The cardiac medical staff now includes 5 cardiac surgeons and 24 cardiologists, with groups sub-specializing in critical care, interventional, structural heart, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, invasive and non-invasive cardiology. This is a high-volume centre where over 1,100 cardiac surgeries, 5,533 cardiac catheterizations, 2,321 angioplasties, 100 TAVI’s, 401 new ICD implants and 725 EP ablations were completed last fiscal year. We are the 4th largest Regional Cardiac Program in Ontario.
