The Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Toronto’s Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University Health Network is seeking to recruit energetic and innovative clinical fellows with expertise in Medical Oncology to assist in our Acute Oncology program.  Through close collaboration between the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology, and the Division of General Internal Medicine, the University Health Network is looking to transform the care of cancer patients across their disease trajectory.  The anticipated start date is between January 1 - July 1, 2020, or shortly thereafter. 

The successful applicants will participate in both inpatient and outpatient aspects of clinical care.  Inpatient rotations would include patients admitted at the Toronto General Hospital and at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.  Outpatient experience involves the Urgent Care Clinic, which has a key mandate of reducing the incidence of hospital admissions.

The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is the largest such program in Canada, and is among the largest in North America. Comprised of about seventy-five senior physicians, the program is supported by outstanding institutional infrastructure, pathology, medical imaging, molecular diagnostics and clinical genomics programs and, by a wide medical and allied-health multidisciplinary team. The program supports extensive clinical, translational, and basic research initiatives including a large clinical trials program. Additionally, the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology supports a comprehensive training program attracting both national and international fellows.

The successful applicants will have demonstrated passion for medical care of cancer patients, in particular acute care, as well as a strong interest in quality improvement or teaching. 

Successful candidates must be eligible for a full time clinical educational appointment in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. It is expected that candidates hold an MD qualification and have completed both their internal medicine residency and subspecialty training in medical oncology. Applicants must also be eligible for licensure through College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.  A remuneration package is available with annual vacation and professional leave.
