Academic Neurologist – Movement Disorder Specialist                              

Queen’s Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology, is seeking a qualified Movement Disorder specialist to join our busy service. Clinical responsibilities would include outpatient  movement disorder clinics, and rotations on the inpatient neurology and consultation services. The Division has a robust patient base in this area.   Experience in advanced therapies for Parkinson’s disease including assessments and programming of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) would be particularly useful. 

Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Neurology in the Province of Ontario by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neurology.

In addition to a major focus of providing exemplary clinical service, the successful applicant is expected to demonstrate research expertise in neurology, with particular interest in clinical trials. The Division has an established residency program in Neurology and demonstrated ability and interest in teaching students at all levels is required. There are many opportunities for collaborative research at Queen’s including with our Centre for Neuroscience Studies.  Candidates must demonstrate evidence of an ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment. Strong potential for innovative and scholarly research would be expected and evidence of collaborative work is required.
