Shared Health, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a Plastic Surgeon to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. This temporary full time position includes a minimum of 1 General Anesthetic (GA) day per week and 1 local operating room (O.R.) day per week. Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ring patients for surgery, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, and medical research, which job duties encompass 75% of the position.
The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 25% of the position. Job duties are required in English.
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Plastic Surgery. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Applicants will have fellowship training in reconstructive surgery, microsurgical skill competency and a minimum 5 years clinical practice experience. Clinical Research is an expectation.
