Facility Details — East Kootenay Regional Hospital:

East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is a 77 bed regional referral centre, serving a catchment area of approximately 82,000 people in the East Kootenays. The 4 floor facility offers 24/7 emergency services with 16 beds, a brand new state of the art 6 bed ICU, a full range of medical and surgical services including Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pathology, Psychiatry and Radiology and Urology.

Practice Details:

Great part time opportunity exists in Cranbrook for an Ob/Gyn to join a strong and cohesive team of Ob/Gyn, Pediatric, and maternity staff. This position is ideal for a candidate who would welcome a supportive role in providing a regular share of call plus vacation coverage to the three full time OB/GYN in town. In this regular part time position, you would have equal on call obligations without the regular clinic hours and overhead. You would have first option to cover any vacations, but not be obligated. If, during some vacations, clinic hours are involved, a regular rate is used to calculate overhead contribution. There is no regular elective surgery time in this position. Rural incentives apply to specialists /physicians in rural areas if they live and work in rural communities in BC and make a minimum income each month and provide service at least 9 months a year. Qualifications:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Obstetric experience
  • CMPA coverage mandatory

Compensation:

  • Payment Structure:
    • Fee for Service
    • + Level 1 MOCAP
  • Estimated Gross Income: $125-175,000 Estimate only + MOCAP
  • Compensation Disclaimer: Income will vary depending on amount of vacation coverage provided;

  • Additional Incentives:
    • Recruitment bonus: $10,000 (.5 FTE)
    • Relocation: $9,000 - $15,000 based on move location
    • Fee Premium: 14%
    • Annual retention: $14,076
    • Rural CME: max of $7,800/year after 4 years in practice
