Full-Time or Part-Time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Position

Lakeridge Health Oshawa is seeking a part-time or full time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health and Addictions Program, Child Youth and Family Program. Our services include a 38-bed Adult Inpatient Unit and 8-bed Child-Adolescent Unit alongside a Mental Health Day Treatment Program, Eating Disorders Program, Early Psychos Intervention and a range of other ambulatory services. The candidate will join a vibrant and motivated group, including Psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social works and child and youth workers, and an excellent management and support staff.    The Child Youth Family Program serves patients by providing inpatient, day hospital, outpatient Psychiatric care, with parallel comprehensive therapy programs that include group and individual therapy for mood, anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and chronic self-harming/suicidality (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy).  Early psychosis intervention and our Eating Disorders teams are also welcoming Psychiatric consultative roles.  Lakeridge Health is also the regional lead for addictions, with concurrent disorders practices embedded thoroughly across the program. Applicants must be eligible for licensure by the CPSO, and must have completed a recognized Psychiatry residency, with FRCPC certification (or equivalent). Subspecialty training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is required.

Clinical responsibilities can include inpatient care, outpatient care (including transitional age youth) and participation in the on-call service. Lakeridge Health has partnered with the Queen's University Medical School, and as a result of this, there will be opportunities for teaching and mentoring medical students.
