DIVISION OF ENDOCRINOLOGY

Effective July 1, 2021 the Division of Endocrinology, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto is recruiting two full-time Endocrinologists to join the Division of Endocrinology.

The Division of Endocrinology brings together significant interdisciplinary and inter-professional activities within General Endocrinology and Diabetes, along with specialty clinics such as Transgender Medicine, Obesity, Gynecology-Endocrinology, Multi-Disciplinary Urogenital, Late Effects Endocrine Oncology, Calcium and Bone Health.  The Division of Endocrinology at The Hospital for Sick Children promotes these activities through seamless integration of research activities, academic performance and exemplary clinical care. SickKids is an academic health sciences centre dedicated exclusively to health outcomes in paediatric children provincially, internationally and is affiliated with the University of Toronto.   

Clinical duties will include clinics in General Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Calcium and Bone Health in addition to weeks on service/on call.   Other duties will include active participation in academic rounds and teaching.  Scholarly activity is an expectation of all faculty, with time dedicated to these activities dependent on background and job profile.  Depending on the interests and goals of the candidate, there are substantial opportunities within our post graduate medical education training program.   

The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto.  Rank and salary ($230,000 - $260,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification in Endocrinology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications.  Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
