The Medical Society of Prince Edward Island (MSPEI) is seeking a Chief Physician Recruiter to help transform the way PEI recruits and retains physicians to the Island. The role will be up to 0.8 FTE for a two-year term.
The individual will be joining a new, first-of-its kind in Canada, Physicians Recruiting Physicians model designed to attract and inspire physicians to select PEI as their preferred destination to practice. Reporting to MSPEI’s CEO and supported by a team at MSPEI, the individual will work alongside government’s Recruitment and Retention Secretariat and Health PEI to recruit and orient physicians to life on PEI.
This is a high-stakes role that will have a significant impact on PEI’s recruitment success. The role will be the first point of contact for all potential candidates, new recruits and PEI physicians looking to fill a vacancy, transitioning out of practice or welcoming a new physician into practice. We are seeking an individual who exhibits exceptional relationship building and communication skills. They will be innovative and visionary in helping to create a new recruitment and retention experience on PEI and will inspire others to be part of the success, while being detail oriented and skilled at executing and delivering outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a member in good standing with MSPEI - or have the ability to join - and has or can easily earn a high degree of trust and credibility with PEI physicians. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated understanding of the nature and demands of a generalist practice.
