The Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology & Hematology is inviting applications for a Clinical Associate - Benign Hematologist position at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The Division is seeking an individual with interest and expertise in benign hematology. Expected start date is April 1, 2021, or shortly thereafter.

Clinical activities will include the assessment and treatment of primarily benign hematology patients in a clinical outpatient setting one day per week at the Odette Cancer Centre with the opportunity to conduct supported additional virtual clinics on other days. Other responsibilities will include inpatient attending consult coverage 20 weeks/year while working with hematology rotation residents and medical students.

It is expected that applicants will participate in teaching in the setting of inpatient consults and ambulatory care.

The successful candidate must hold a MD degree; have or be eligible for certification in Hematology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for licensure to practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The successful applicant will join the Division of Medical Oncology & Hematology, which is one of 15 divisions in the Department of Medicine, providing compassionate care of patients with hematological disorders whose disease may be benign or malignant. Members are involved in teaching hematology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and to physicians locally, nationally and internationally in continuing education programs. The Division is committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

The successful candidate will be a part-time clinical associate membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings will be administered. The remuneration is OHIP fee for service.
