Reporting to Horizon Health’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as the Vice President, Medical, Academic and Research Affairs you will lead an interdisciplinary team that focuses on ethics, research, academics (medical learners) and physician human resources planning. A key member of Horizon's Executive Leadership Team, you will participate in setting the strategic direction for Horizon Health and the broader health system in New Brunswick. You will share innovative ideas and collaborate to transform care delivery.  You will foster and enable physician leadership and engagement and work with the Chief of Staff and other physician leaders to plan and staff medical services. You will oversee and ensure that systems, policies and procedures support excellence in medical care and champion an agenda of constant improvement, innovation, and research.

As the ideal candidate, you are a senior physician leader with significant leadership experience within a complex, multi-site academic health sciences organization. Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills enable you to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike. You have a demonstrated understanding of budgets and long-term financial planning, strong human resources capabilities, and the ability to engage, mentor, and empower teams. Collaborative, solutions-focused, engaging, compassionate and thoughtful are the words used to describe your leadership style. Your professional career demonstrates alignment with Horizon Health’s mission and programs, you are respected by your peers for clinical and/or teaching, and/or research accomplishment and you have practiced in an academic teaching environment. The ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset.
