Position Profile:

We are seeking a team-oriented and professional community-based Adult Psychiatrists to be part of our dynamic and expanding department in Regina, Saskatchewan with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). Candidates with a special interest and additional training in Psychotherapy would be preferred. The position provides an opportunity to work in a broad clinical population within a continuum of services. 

Call coverage allows for a balanced lifestyle as it is shared with all other Psychiatrists in the Department.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. You will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the academic mandate of the department, both undergraduate and post-graduate programs.

The University of Saskatchewan is a research-intensive institution with 22,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff, and a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. The College of Medicine has an intake of 100 students per year with a commensurate number of positions for residency training. Qualifications:

Successful candidates will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Psychiatry. Candidates will be eligible for provisional or regular licensure from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) to practice in Saskatchewan. 

This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family centered care.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

The successful applicant is expected to participate in the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programs of the Department of Psychiatry in the Regina Area.
