Obstetrician/Gynecologist

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Health Sciences and DC Obstetrics and Gynecology (DCOG) is looking for a qualified Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join the DCOG practice group.

 

DCOG is a private practice group of 9 doctors located at 47 Marion Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. There may be the potential to practice share/mentor with a group member planning retirement in 2022, if desired.

 

The successful candidate will become an equal member of the group seeing patients in our clinic and sharing call duties at St. Boniface General Hospital and community gynecology call. The candidate must be a general Obstetrician/Gynecologist with a desire to maintain a busy obstetrical practice in addition to providing gynecological care. Gynecology surgical time will initially be limited to scramble time with the prospect of acquiring regular slates in the future. Proficiency in minimally invasive surgery is essential. The candidate will be required to be involved in decision-making  within the clinic as well as being an active presence in hospital, regional and university meetings/committees. There is an expectation to be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. This includes participation in departmental rounds, bedside/clinical education and classroom training. QUALIFICATIONS:

 

-Fellowship from the Royal College of Physician & Surgeons of Canada in Obstetrics & Gynecology

-Current or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba on the specialists registry as an Obstetrician Gynecologist

-Must be able to secure hospital privileges with Shared Health

-Must obtain a University of Manitoba teaching appointment

 

The successful candidate will need approval from the University of Manitoba Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Health Sciences program. A presentation at departmental rounds will also be required.
