Clinician Scientist – General Adult and Health Systems Psychiatry

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a clinician-scientist to clinical care and conduct research within the General Adult and Health Systems Psychiatry Division.

Duties include clinical evaluation and treatment of outpatients, teaching and supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents, and participation in research and other academic activities.  Current expertise regarding body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), eating disorders, OCD, and gender dysphoria is required.  Research expertise in functional (fMRI and EEG) and structural neuroimaging (sMRI and DTI), as well as psychophysical testing is also required.

CAMH is Canada’s premier addiction and mental health facility and a world leader in the diagnosis and care of patients with addiction and mental disorders, offering a wide spectrum of care, from treatment for first episode to care for the severely and persistently mentally ill.  It is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, the largest and most prestigious research-intensive university in Canada. CAMH, together with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto has a strong tradition in the integration of clinical, teaching and research activities. 

Applicants must possess an MD Degree or equivalent, be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an equivalent organization and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  Candidates should also be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. All candidates must be proficient in English.

Compensation is in accordance with the compensation of a psychiatrist in the province of Ontario (a guaranteed income of $240,000 a year with opportunity to earn more based on additional fee for service earnings; benefits not included).  Applicants may be eligible for a relocation package.  This is a full-time permanent role.  This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON, M6J 1H4.
