Western Health is seeking the services of a fee for service Medical Internist with an interest in Non-invasive Cardiology. The position is located in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador. Responsibilities include participation in the General Medicine on call schedule and providing inpatient and office based general medicine consultation service. The successful candidate will be required to do EST, non-invasive imaging (sesta-mibi, etc.) and manage Intensive Care Unit patients including ventilator care.

The Medical Consultants Group is a dynamic group of eight Internal Medicine Specialists, and we are seeking to expand the Group to at least ten. The Group provides a high volume, clinical service with provision of General Internal Medicine and Sub-Specialty services to a population of approximately 78,000. We offer:

Corner Brook is the site of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a 217-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Medical School and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required: Eligible for licensure as a Medical Internist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certified or eligible and meets the credentialing requirements of Western Health’s Discipline of Medicine. Training in EST and other forms of non-invasive imaging (sesta-mibi, etc.) required. Experience with pacemaker insertion and/or follow-up, and Echocardiogram interpretation would be an asset. 

 Remuneration: Fee for Service basis as per the Medical Care Plan (MCP) fee schedule. An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
