Stevenson Memorial Hospital is a vibrant community hospital 45 minutes from Toronto providing excellent, high quality health care services to a fast-growing population in New Tecumseth and serving the South Simcoe region. We have an ambitious plan for a completely redeveloped and revitalized hospital and we continually pursue innovative partnerships with primary care and other providers who share our vision. Over the past five years, we have set a new standard for Community Hospital care.

With the high growth in population in our community, Stevenson is growing to meet local needs. In July 2020 we received our Stage 1 approval for the redevelopment of our hospital from the Ontario Ministry of Health. In January 2021, we opened our High Acuity Unit (a 4-bed Level 2 ICU), allowing for advanced care services to patients close to home.

The hospital has achieved or exceeded all of its goals in accreditation, quality and performance indicators. Our medical staff is engaged in advancing and expanding the programs and services we are able to provide. The incoming Chief of Staff will be well-positioned to guide and advise the Board in the implementation of its Strategic Plan.

Preference will be given to physicians who have demonstrated a commitment to collaborative leadership and practice. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working with the President and CEO, this 1.5 day a week position will focus on credentialing clinicians, Quality of Care Performance and chairing of the Medical Advisory Committee. Our Chief of Staff will establish a strong clinical presence in the organization and will be an active member of the senior administrative team and Board of Directors. The successful candidate will present those qualities that show a balanced approach to innovation and effectiveness in the current environment of high-quality, high-value health care. The successful candidate must be a champion of Patient and Family Centered Care and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
