Full-time – Health Science Centre, Eastern Health, St. John’s, NL

The Laboratory Medicine Program of Eastern Health (EH) invites expressions of interest for multiple full-time permanent surgical pathologists.  Those with additional training or experience in gastrointestinal-hepatobiliary, gynecological and breast pathology are of priority, however those with other areas should also consider applying.

The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists with approximately 40,000 surgical pathology cases and 45,000 cytopathology specimens per year.  Our pathologists participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds and site groups working closely with their clinical colleagues including the provincial cancer care program.  On-call and medical autopsy coverage is required and shared within the group.  The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador (MUNL) and has a residency program in Anatomical Pathology and successful candidates will be involved in resident teaching.

Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidates may be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Laboratory Medicine and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie: teaching).
