The Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine at Queen’s University invites applications for the position of an Academic Complex Malignant Hematologist. Expertise in acute leukemia and / or cellular therapy is highly desirable.
The Division of Hematology is primarily housed within the Department of Medicine, with very close ties with the Department of Oncology. The Division is comprised of ten faculty members, supported by a strong allied health professional team, including advanced practice nurses, and benefits from excellent collaborative working relationships with the Departments of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, and Pediatrics. The group provides clinical care to a large catchment area with specialty clinics, including bleeding disorders, and a well-supported in-patient program, including acute leukemia and autologous stem cell transplantation. A CAR T cell therapy program is in development. There is a thriving subspecialty training program, as well as high-quality externally funded research programs. In addition to demonstrating evidence of providing exemplary clinical service, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong potential for teaching and supervising students and residents at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and exhibit strong potential for innovative and scholarly research in collaborative setting. The successful candidate must also demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. The incumbent will be expected to make contributions through service to the department, the Faculty, the University, and/or the broader community.
Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
