Our hospital has recently been renovated and the facility, equipment & staff are all top-notch! The new medical clinic is located in the hub of our community center with a fitness room, gymnasium, library, MLA office & playschool. The Town has a population of just over 850, which does not include the surrounding rural areas that then doubles the numbers. Porcupine Plain is known for its welcoming atmosphere, collective spirit and family oriented way of life. The newly built K-12 school includes an attached childcare facility and many youth activities and clubs (Hockey, Baseball, Dance, Scouts, Air Cadets etc.). Job Duties:
Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health, Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, Provide pre-natal and post-natal care, Advise patients on health care, Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities, Communicate health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention to patients, Perform patient advocacy role, Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues, Provide emergency care, Participate on institutional committees.
